

ART BY WOMEN FOCUS OF NEW GALLERY SHOW AND ANNUAL CELEBRATION AT PRICE CENTER
For the third consecutive year, art by women is the focus of a new gallery show held in conjunction with International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8. “From Challenge Comes Change” features 81 individual works by more than 50 area women displayed throughout the first-floor galleries of the Price Center now through March 27. TWO NEW CALLS FOR ART AT PRICE CENTER CELEBRATE EARTH, OUTDOOR SCULPTURE
Two new Calls for Art from the Price Center will give local artists an opportunity to honor earth and/or create outdoor sculpture for possible permanent display at the Center. The two art shows will open in April in downtown San Marcos. “Restore Our Earth” is a community art show open to all area creators designed to honor our planet and highlight ways we can all contribute to her health. Love is in the Air @ Price Center
A beautiful group quilt created as a Valentine to the Price Center by local quilters Bee Friends and a selection of their Tender Loving Care (TLC) quilts is spreading love throughout the Center now through the end of March. "All You Need is. . . Hearts" was created in 2017 by the group as a thank you to the Center. Members each took a square and designed their own "Valentine." Bee Friends has a long-standing tradition of making quilts as gifts for their members and others. TL

A two-week pop-up display at the Price Center in downtown San Marcos features a visual display of gowns and costumes, printed matter, and photos of annual Royalty that helps tell the story of San Marcos’ Mistick Krewe of Okeanos, the creators of the annual Mardi Gras parade and celebrations in San Marcos.
