Basket Weaving Workshops Coming Soon

Local fiber and basket artist Cricket Rose is bringing three new creative workshops to the Price Center beginning Oct. 12. Each workshop will consist of two, four-hour sessions held on consecutive Wednesdays and Fridays. Each workshop will focus on a separate type of basket weaving and all materials will be provided. All three workshops require advance registration and payment of a $35 fee.

“This series of workshops is a nice compliment to the ongoing heritage arts practiced monthly at the Center and the recent one-off workshops we’ve hosted with LifeLong Learning smtx,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director. “Folks seem to like the short-term commitment mixed with ability to learn a new creative skill and walk away with a finished product.”

Bean Pot with Handle (example shown at right) will focus on a Colonial style design and take place on Oct. 10 and 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
