Price Center Mourning Loss of Longtime Supporter Dr. Darrell Piersol

The Price Center joins the community of San Marcos and Texas State University in mourning the loss of longtime patron and donor, Dr. Darrell Piersol who passed away peacefully at home on Sat., Feb. 24, 2018. Darrell and his wife Barbara, a longtime member of the Price Center Board, were part of the core group that helped create, fund and continue to frequent the Price Center & Tea Room since its inception.

“Darrell’s most impressive personal and professional accomplishments were eclipsed in my mind by his community involvement and generousity,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director. “He was a sterling example of the ‘greatest generation’ whose humor, grace and style set a pace to which we all should aspire.”

A viewing will be held on Thurs., March 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Pennington Funeral Home. The service to celebrate his life will be held on Fri., March 2 at 3 p.m. at the Texas State University Catholic Student Center. Internment will follow at San Marcos City Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Price Center at 5 p.m.
