SAN MARCOS STYLE FOCUS OF FMA FALL FASHION SHOW @ PRICE CENTER

SAN MARCOS, TX -- The Fashion Merchandising Association (FMA) is hosting its Semi-Annual Fashion Show on Thursday, Nov. 14 in downtown San Marcos. This year the show will highlight specifically what San Marcos fashion has to offer. From local San Marcos Retailers to Student Designers, the event will showcase local fashions and products via Runway Shows and Popup Shops before the Runway Show and during Intermission. FMA is a professional, experience building, student-run organization at Texas State University. By hosting Semi- Annual Fashion Shows, the group is able fuel students’ passion for fashion in specific areas that they are interested in from design to events, marketing, and more. The

VETERANS & MORE FOCUS OF NOV. 9 SAN MERCADO AT PRICE CENTER

A Salute to Veterans via a display of local vet’s stories created by Crockett and Hernandez elementary school students, and impromptu sing-alongs with members of the Heart of Texas Chorus will be highlights of the Price Center’s next San Mercado slated for Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. In addition, the Downtown Veterans’ Day Parade and Breakfast gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on the Square where viewers will also encounter the Farmers Market, Art Squared and a number of other Downtown Walkabout activities throughout the day and into the evening, including the new San Marcos Art Center and the opening for the new state-wide Tiny Texas Art Show at 218 Co-Op Gallery. PEACE & UNDERSTANDING FOCUS OF NEW PRICE CENTER ART SHOW

With great division in our county and the beginning of a busy holiday season of many diverse religions and cultures throughout our community and world, the Price Center’s Arts Committee is pleased to offer their newest show titled “Peace & Understanding.” The unique display features 64 works of original art by 41 area artists depicting images, symbols, and concepts of peace, understanding, serenity, cooperation, empathy and compassion. Works on display range from traditional oil paintings and black & white and color photography to unique mixed media, mosaics, assemblage, found and fused glass, quilts, other fiber art and more. The show hangs throughout the facility until Jan. 4 and most work

Oct. 12 San Mercado set for Fall Fun

The Price Center’s next San Mercado is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Garden and throughout the various indoor venues of the Price Center. The Market features an eclectic mix of local vendors – new and returning -- selling everything from fresh pies to plants, handmade goods, collectibles, beautiful new holiday quilts, and small retail products, to activities like new art shows, music, refreshments, and a selfie photo-booth with fun Mercado-themed props. In addition to several new vendors, Bee Friends, a quilting bee that creates at the Center several times a month, is raising funds to help underwrite their charity work via a series of Holiday-themed run
