New Rotating Art Gallery Seeking Artists

The beautiful and historic Price Center in downtown San Marcos has been serving as a cultural and performing arts center since its founding by Ron and Marie Jager in the late 1990s. The Center is interested in submissions from community artists who would like to display and potentially sell original works in a rotating community art gallery located throughout the Center’s Tea Room, Parlor and historic 1910 and 1893 Rooms. From hosting annual summer and fall musical theatre productions to serving as the home for creating art to Recitals, documentary and other film showings, book-signing-and-reading events, to pop-up art shows, the cultural arts have been an integral part of the Price Center

4th Flea Debuts This Sat.

4th Flea, a new downtown community flea market taking place on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Price Center, debuts this Sat., June 25. The event is open to anyone looking for great bargains or wanting to sell a few things. Booth spaces for interested participants are available on first come, first served basis for $20 for outside space and $30 for an inside space. Private and retail vendors are welcome. Participants will need to bring their own tents, tables and necessary display equipment. Set up is from 8-9 a.m. the day of sale. A limited number of tables are available for a $10 fee. Fountains of St Mark Author to Speak, Paintings to be Featured June 22

Award-winning filmmaker, photographer and author Ron Coley will speak about his new book, “The Fountains of Saint Mark” at the Price Center in downtown San Marcos on Wed., June 22 from 3-6 p.m. Coley, who is well known to the San Marcos community for his life-long love for, and support of, the San Marcos Springs, will share stories about his experience writing and producing the gorgeously printed, museum quality, large-format book that features more than 100 full-page photographs and eight original paintings. Oklahoma Focus of Musical Theatre Boot Camp and Performances at Center

San Marcos, TX – For 16 years, Wimberley talent coach Lee Colee’ has brought an intense theatre boot camp experience to aspiring “triple- threat” performers. This year, the musical theatre classic, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma,” will be the focus of the signing, acting and dancing camp for young performers, which begins Monday, June 6 at the Price Center. '4th Flea' Now Monthly @ Center

San Marcos, TX – Thanks to an extremely successful Community Flea Market on May 28 at the Price Center, the downtown venue has decided to create an ongoing monthly opportunity called 4th Flea, which will take place on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Garden, along the alley and inside the Center. “We were thrilled with the variety of our vendors and the more than 100 shoppers who joined us last Saturday for the sale. Feedback from booth participants and shoppers alike was so positive, we felt we need to do this regularly,” said the Center’s executive director Clay DeStefano.
