NINE PERFORMANCE RUN OF 'OKLAHOMA!' BEGINS JUNE 22

Thirty area children ranging in age from 8-18 have been learning the songs, lines and moves to Roger’s and Hammerstein’s Broadway classic “Oklahoma!” over the past 11 days straight to prepare for the first of nine performances this Friday night, June 17 at the Price Center in downtown San Marcos. The Opening Night performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. sharply in the historic 1910 Room.

The engaging cast consists of students of Lee Colee’s annual musical theatre boot camp for aspiring “triple- threat” performers that perform some of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s best, including “People Will Say We’re In Love,” “Kansas City,” “Oh, What A Beautiful Morning,” “The Surrey With The Fringe on Top,” and the title song “Oklahoma.” The caliber of the performances will likely have theatre patrons singing along.

The nine performances include the Fri., June 17, Opening Night 7:30 p.m. performance, as well as eight more at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sat., June 18; 2:30 p.m. Sun., June 19; 7:30 p.m. Fri., June 24; 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sat., June 25 and 2:30 p.m. Sun., June 26.
