1ST TUESDAY RETURNS WITH THE STARS AT NIGHT
Please join First Tuesday SMTX for the award-winning feature documentary THE STARS AT NIGHT directed by Betty Buckley on Tuesday, April 2 at The Price Center & Garden. The Stars at Night explores the connection between astronomy, mythology, and original storytelling. Through expert interviews and an expedition to one of North America’s last truly dark skies we try to discover what impact light pollution is having on our culture, and what stories may have never been told, had the storytellers never seen the stars.

OPEN STUDIO SESSION: FIELD GUIDE GOES TINY APRIL 10
Local artist and educator Karen Cross is bringing her junk journaling skills back to our monthly evening Open Studio Session on April 10 with a tiny version of her popular journals. Field Guide to Inspiration Goes Tiny will provide participants with the opportunity to use matchboxes/books as starting points to create inspirational journals. A supply list will be sent when you register for the workshop. A $10 donation suggested. 6:30 – 8 p.m., limited to 15.

LIVE @ PRICE CONCERT SERIES DEBUTS APRIL 11
After serving as volunteer extraordinaire for the Center’s sound and projection needs for the past 10 months, Dave Nicosia is joining forces with local musicians and promoters to launch a new monthly music series to fill the gaps before and after the very popular Summer in the Park Concert Series. Live @ Price will take place on the Second Thursday of each month in the Spring and Fall. The first of the new Spring Concerts is slated for April 11 at 7 p.m. Loose Screws & Rusty Hearts will perform in the 1910 Room. Doors open at 6:30 and the concert begins at 7. A $15 donation is suggested.
WORLD TAI CHI DAY APRIL 27
As it does each year, a celebration of World Tai Chi Day will take place in our Garden promptly at 10 a.m. on the 4th Saturday of April. As others gather around the world at the same time to practice Tai Chi, the Price Center’s own Brenda Bell will lead an outdoor session in our Garden joined by guest instructor, Margaret Falletta. The gathering is free and open to all.
BITS & PIECES TO CELEBRATE RECYCLING & PLANET EARTH
Our annual arts focus on recycling and the earth is back via our next Call for Art, Bits & Pieces. The idea is to create art using recycled materials – reuse a canvas, rethink an old idea, use found objects, etc. – to make something new and avoid adding to the landfill. Drop of art Tues., Wed, April 30 & May 1 from 10am -5pm. The show will hang May 4 -- June 22.
