NEW CALL FOR ART FROM PRICE CENTER SEEKS WORKS FEATURING RECYCLED ELEMENT

The newest Call for Art from the Price Center’s Arts Committee is seeking art that features some form of recycling with its upcoming Something Old to Something New show. Interested artists may drop their art off at the Price Center on Tue., and Wed., April 26, and 27 from 10 am. – 5 p.m. All media will be accepted. A $10 application fee applies, and a 20% commission applies if the work sells. Due to the growing popularity of the community art shows, interested artists are asked to submit only one piece of art. Something Old from Something New will hang throughout the Center’s galleries April 30 - May.

“Whether it’s a repainted canvas, found objects, or some sort of recycled paper, glass, plastic, or metal item, the work must include some form of reuse,” said Garrie Borden, committee member. “The idea is to leave it up to the artist as to how much and what material they use,” she added.

Plans for the upcoming show include a companion show in the Main Parlor by the Austin Mosaic Guild as many of their works feature recycled glass and/or pottery.

Rotating Art Shows are created, curated, and conducted by the Price Center Arts Committee and funded in part through a grant from the San Marcos Arts Commission.
