KT’s KaracTers to Present Remote Control Aug. 21, 23

Big SMAL Show Call for Art Set for Aug. 25, 26
The San Marcos Art League (SMAL) is pleased to announce the call for art for its Annual Big SMAL Show. All members of the San Marcos Art League are eligible to submit one piece (or two small pieces if under 8” x 10”) at no cost; the Art League is paying the entry fee as a membership benefit.
Art Drop off occurs at the Price Center, 222 W San Antonio Street on
· Tues, August 25 from 12pm - 6 pm
· Wed, August 26 from 10 am - 5 pm
The Big SMAL Show runs from August 29 through October 24 at the Price Center. The reception is planned for September 16 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Watch for more details as the event draws near.
5th Annual Variety Show Auditions Set for 8/29, 9/2
Auditions for the 5th Annual San Marcos Variety Show benefitting the Price Center have been set for Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 – noon and Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 5-7 p.m. Talent of all types is welcome and encouraged. The show is a family-friendly favorite each year and slots for performers fill up quickly! Want to showcase your talent? Rough Draft Arts Classes Coming Sept. 2, 16 & Oct. 7, 21
Step into a welcoming space to spark your imagination with our creativity drop-in classes brought to you by Rough Draft’s Brooke Pillifant. Each session offers a unique, hands-on experience where we dive into the life and work of a featured artist to explore their style and techniques. Following our discussion, we break out the supplies to create our own pieces using materials that directly mirror the artist's process, making it a true hands-on art-making experience.
Classes will meet on Wednesdays (Sept 2, 16 & Oct 7, 21) from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM and cost $10, which covers all necessary supplies. Because these are drop-in sessions, you are welcome to attend just one class or join us for the whole series. No prior art experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and get ready to create!
