The newest Call for Art from the Price Center’s Arts Committee is again honoring the planet by seeking art that focuses on the theme of recycling and reusing an item to create a new work of art. Artful Alchemy: Materials Transformed will be on display from May 2 – June 20. The Call is open to all area artists. Interested artists may drop their art off at the Price Center on Tue., April 28, from noon – 6 p.m. and Wednesday, April 29 10 am – 5 pm. All media accepted. A $10 application fee applies ($15 for non-Price Center members), and a 20% commission applies if the work sells.
“The concept for the theme is for artists to reuse something – a used canvas, swapped paint, found objects, otherwise discarded paper, broken pottery, even a recycled idea – to make a new work of art,” said Garrie Borden, Arts Committee member.
The annual recycled/upcycled show honors Earth each year and is always one of the most innovative and creative shows featured in the gallery.

Rotating Community Art Shows are created, curated, and coordinated by the Price Center Arts Committee and funded by submission fees and commissions from sales. Each show also includes an Opening Reception and a Brown Bag Lunch where participating artists share their work and process with one another. More than 600 artists have shown art in the Gallery since 2018.
