No San Mercado @ Price Center in July

Organizers of San Marcos’ only monthly community market – the Price Center’s San Mercado – regretfully report that there will not be a San Mercado in July due to scheduling conflicts at the Center. Two private events are already booked for July 13 at the Center, which makes hosting a market on the same day virtually impossible.

“It’s a good news, bad news thing,” says Clay DeStefano, executive director. “The good news is we’ll help two more local families with personal milestone celebrations. The bad news is we have to skip Mercado this month,” he adds.

San Mercado activities take place in the Garden and throughout the various indoor venues of the Price Center from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month. Fresh art shows, an ever-evolving variety of vendors, performances, and kid-friendly activities provide a great, culturally-diverse time for all.

Vendor spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis and advanced registration is advised. Admission to the Mercado is free and open to all. The monthly market is made possible in part through grant funds from the San Marcos Arts Commission. Proceeds from booth rentals benefit the Price Center, which is operated by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association (GSMASA), a 501 (c) 3 non-profit.

For more information, including reserving booth space, please call 512-392-2900, stop by the Center at 222 W. San Antonio St. Mon. – Fri., 9-5 p.m., or visit price-center.org or Facebook @ Price Center & Garden.
