SAN MARCOS ART LEAGUE MEMBERS’ ART FOCUS OF NEW SHOW @ CENTER
More than 50 new works of art by over 30 members of the San Macros Art League are the focus of a new art show hanging throughout the Price Center’s gallery venues now through early-August. “2019 & Beyond” features new works in a variety of media, including fiber, glass, mosaic, photography, acrylics, batik, assemblage, and more. An Artists’ Reception hosted by the Art League will be held Wed., June 26 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Center. Guests may meet the artists, enjoy complimentary wine, hors d’oeuvres, live music, and great conversation.
“We’re extremely pleased with the number of submissions, the quality of the works, and the variety of media represented,” said Joan Nagel, Price Center board member and chair of its newly formed Arts Committee.
Gallery shows at the Price Center are made possible in part through grant fund from the San Marcos Arts Commission. Admission to the shows is free and galleries are open to the public daily from 9-5. Many of the works are for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Price Center, a 501 © 3 non-profit.
Visitors to the Center are also encouraged to take in the new Quilt display featuring patriotic themes and imagery hanging in the Stairwell Gallery.
