Art in the Alley Set for this Saturday
The Price Center’s Feltner Alley Parking Lot will transform into an outdoor Pop-Up Art Market for the second installment of Art in the Alley, this Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. More than a dozen returning and new artists are planning to set-up and, thanks to a grant from the San Marcos Arts Commission, live music will be performed from noon – 3 p.m. Admission is free and open to all.
Visual artists slated to appear are event creator and director Ronnie Borden, Norman Bean, Tony Belamonte, Michael Fisher, Furly, Bill Gibbs, Cecy Holcomb, Fen Labyrinth, Diane McGregor, Robin Orta, Rene Perez, Amber Taylor, and Kathryn Welch. Works on display and for sale will include abstract painting, surrealistic graphite drawings, pen and ink, pop-art, blown and stained glass, pottery, and more.
Performing artists scheduled to appear are Kelany Brent who will take the stage at noon and performs a broad range of music, including many that she has written as well as covers ranging from country to punk-rock. At 1:30 p.m. Flora and Fauna, a local San Marcos duo featuring Rachel Kelly and Sean Dunlap will perform their alternative indie sound with a pinch of folk.
