'SEVEN BRIDES' OPENS FRI NIGHT
The curtain will rise promptly at 7:30 this Friday night for the opening night presentation of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” in the historic 1910 Room of the Price Center in downtown San Marcos. More than 30 area young people – ages 8 – 20 – will present nine performances of this popular musical theater classic following 11 long and challenging days of musical theater boot camp. The show runs through June 25 with Fri and Sat. evening performances and Sat. and Sun. matinees.
Through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), Lee Colee’s Black Diamond Cabaret Theatre directed the camp and production. Along with Colee, Kathleen Griffith, best known for the television show “Friday Night Lights,” served as assistant director and Callie Schimdbauer provided the choreography.
Advanced tickets may be purchased for $18 at blackdiamondshows.com or by calling the box office at 512-847-7934. Discounted and group rates are available for seniors and parties of 12 people and up.
