THIS WEEK’S DOWNTOWN WALKABOUT FEATURES NEW SOLO ARTIST OPENING AT PRICE CENTER & MORE
This week’s 3rd Thursday Downtown Walkabout activities at the Price Center will include the Opening Reception from 6 – 8 p.m. for a new solo art show in the Main Parlor, by Joanna Burch, a local artist who paints in oils on porcelain and traditional canvas as well in watercolor and pastels. The event is free, open to all, and light refreshments will be served.
Guests to the Center this Thursday evening will have the opportunity to meet Burch while enjoying light refreshments. In addition, the current Watercolor show featuring the works of Carroll Dolezal hanging in the Tea Room and 8 Quilts and more than a dozen painted porcelain works on display in the Center’s main and upstairs halls.
The new solo show pulls from Burch’s extensive art background ranging from teaching after school classes to children, to directing and educating various artist leagues and groups. Burch has acquired a following of collectors over the years, and is a contributing writer to several magazines.
Burch’s works include watercolors, pastels, oils, and porcelain. Each of the works is available for sale and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Price Center, a non-profit community center operated by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association.
