Price Center Seeking Donations to Replenish Improvement Funds

Over the past year and a half, the Price Center has invested significantly in facility improvements to help revitalize the facility and its services. Our sound system, theatre lighting, and projector have been upgraded. Outdoor lighting now enhances the facility and Garden at night. We have installed two new sets of doors and painted the entire second floor. New and updated signs are in final production, and we're about to replace the 20-year-old worn-out carpet.

The first major improvements to the facility occurred during the COVID closures of 2020. Thanks to a kick-start donation from Board Chairman Dale Kelley, paint, flooring, and window treatments were upgraded throughout the first floor.
"We began this most recent improvement journey in late 2023 because we felt confident about our rebound after COVID," said Clay DeStefano, executive director. "While we served 5,000 more people in 2024 than in 2023, the Fall '24 and Winter '25 quarters show a downturn in venue rentals -- our primary source of revenue," he added.
The economic uncertainty of the moment seems to have slowed the venue rental business down for the foreseeable future.
At the same time, free and greatly discounted classes and activities -- which do not generate any revenue -- have never been busier. We are dedicated to completing these $40,000 improvements, but our improvement funds are running low.
This is where your help is requested! With your generous support, all donations received in May, June, and July will be earmarked for these recent improvements (especially the new carpet). We are excited about the potential of this partnership to help improve the look and services of the Center for all who use it.
