BROKE THESPIANS RETURN TO PRICE CENTER MAY 5-8 WITH 'SMELL OF THE KILL'
Broke Thespian’s Theatre Company is returning to the Price Center for its third production of the year with Mike Lowe’s Smell of the Kill, May 5-8. The local theatre group will perform three evening performances and one matinee from the Ron & Marie Jager Theater Stage in the Price Center’s 1910 Room at 7:30 p.m. and 2p.m. respectively. The play is directed by Katie Henderson and features an all-female cast.
Lowe takes three delicious, malicious wives, adds three miserable, unloving husbands—and chills. Smell of the Kill revolves around Nicky, Debra and Molly who have tolerated one another during once-a-month dinners for years. While their unseen spouses play golf in the dining room, the women exchange confidences for the first time revealing that all three marriages are on the brink of disaster and all three women are facing the challenges of their lives. Nicky's husband has been indicted for embezzlement, Molly's husband is stalking her, and Debra's husband is leaving her for another woman. When the men mistakenly lock themselves in a basement meat locker the women are faced with a life-or-death decision—should they leave the men out in the cold—permanently—or let them thaw? One by one the women make their choices with more than a little help from one another.
A powerhouse cast -- Eileen Cerda, Kelly Martel, and Ashley Hennie -- matched up perfectly with this dark, story-rich comedy is sure to have you laughing and gripping your seat with anticipation. You will not want to miss this unique play. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance via the following link, or at the door prior to performances.
