NEW MAKING IT CRAFT CLASS COMING TO PRICE CENTER

Following a successful Pop-Up art show in September, the Seaton Foundation is expanding its relationship with the Price Center via a new series of craft classes for adults being offered on the first Tuesday evening of each month. The classes will be open to all, and participants will leave each session with a finished product, including hand-painted scarves, tote bags, and greeting cards. The Seaton Foundation is covering the cost of the space and class instructor; however, a small fee to cover supplies and pre-registration is required.

“We’re delighted to be offering more ‘maker classes’ at the Center and grateful to the folks at Seaton Foundation for taking the lead to help make it happen,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director.

The first of the new “Making It Craft Classes” will be offered on Feb. 4 from 6-8 p.m. and focus on making a Valentine’s card depicting a family pet. Each participant will be required to bring their own personal photograph of their furry best friend. The class will also focus on drawing, painting, using mixed media to make abstract and figurative Valentine’s themed cards. The instructor for the first class is local artist, author and instructor, Veronique Hahn.

The Seaton Foundation is a local 501(c)3 non-profit grounded in the belief that people can experience continued growth when provided with appropriate supports and opportunities that promote purpose, meaningful relationships, and being part of a community. This complements the Price Center’s mission to provide enriching and engaging activities that promote community integration and fellowship.

The Craft Classes, which are funded by the Seaton Foundation, are limited to no more than 12 participants and a $15 fee is required in advance. For more information, including reserving your spot, please call 512-392-2900 or stop by the Center at 222 W. San Antonio St. Mon. – Fri., 9-5 p.m.
