SEPTEMBER SEEING MORE ACTIVITY @ PRICE CENTER

The arrival of September finds a more active slate of activities at the Price Center. Heres a quick summary of important news for the month:

2 for 1 FUNDRAISER EXCEEDS TARGET

We are delighted to share that the 2 for 1 Matching Grant offer by Price Center Board Chair Dale Kelley proved just the right incentive for many of you to donate to our facility enhancement project over the last week of August. The rush of donations catapulted us beyond our goal for new flooring and fresh paint in the first-floor venues of the Center. Our plan is to complete the work this month for a fresh look as we re-open. We are most grateful to Mr. Kelley and each one of you who took the time to donate and express your support to the Center. We are humbled and inspired by it all!

COVID-19 CLOSURE UPDATE

We continue working towards a limited re-opening of the Price Center beginning in October. Barring any major outbreaks or mandates, we intend to re-open to safe, small, and controlled events and activities – mostly outside with limited indoor access. Masks, social distancing, and other COVID-inspired precautions will be taken. We will continue to monitor the situation in conjunction with the City and update you accordingly.

SAN MERCADO RETURNING SEPT. 12

We are joining forces with the San Marcos Art League to bring back San Mercado, our monthly market in conjunction with the League’s Art Squared market on the Square. We will be open from 9-2 next Saturday, Sept. 12 with outdoor vendors and controlled access to our new 1893 resale shop. Masks are required for vendors and shoppers alike, and social distancing measures will be enforced.

SHOP 1893 FOR TRULY UNIQUE RESALE EXPERIENCE

Thanks to strong ongoing sales and continued and generous donations of items from many of you, our fundraising sale is now “SHOP 1893.” This truly unique resale shopping experience features an eclectic mix of resale items, including small furniture, original art, housewares, glass and dishware, home decor, collectibles, architectural salvage, and upcycled merchandise artfully displayed upstairs and down in our historic 1893 Chapel. In addition to the donated items, a select group of vendors has also been added to round-out a truly San Marcos-centric shopping experience! Everything is priced to sell. Shop from 10 a – 3 p, M, W, & F (current hours will likely expand as we return to more normal operations). Masks required.

DONATED ITEMS ALWAYS WELCOME

Do you have items you no longer need or have room to store? Turn your art, accessories, tarnished trinkets, humble home-goods, furniture fails, and unused utensils into treasure for the Price Center! Call 512-392-2900 or stop in M, W, & F: 10-3 or Facebook Message us.
