TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR UPCOMING “SEVEN BRIDES” PRODUCTION

Two performers from last year's boot camp production of Oklahoma strut their stuff.

The Price Center will once again welcome back Lee Colee to produce and direct her 17th annual summer musical this June. Through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), Colee’s Black Diamond Cabaret Theatre is offering 9 performances of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” in its historic 1910 Room. Kathleen Griffith, best known for the television show “Friday Night Lights,” will be assistant directing and Callie Schimdbauer will be on board as choreographer.

“Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” opens Friday, June 16th, and plays through June 25th, including matinees on Saturday and Sunday. The cast is made up entirely of children ages 8 – 18 from all over the Hill Country. The performers participated in extensive auditioning and interviews, and will participate in a 10-day boot camp prior to the first production to fine tune and master their skills.

Breath taking dance sequences, and songs such as “Bless Your Beautiful Hide,” “Goin Courtin,” “Sobbin Women” and “Wonderful Day,” will have audiences humming and whistling on the tunes on their way out of the theater. Advanced tickets may be purchased for $18 at blackdiamondshows.com or by calling the box office at 512-847-7934. Discounted and group rates are available for seniors and parties of 12 people and up.

In addition to the showcasing the performing arts, the Price Center also features a rotating community art gallery and offers a variety of venues and spaces to rent for meetings, banquets, performances and anything in between. The Center is always looking and welcoming talent to feature and put on display.

The Price Center is operated by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association (GSMASA), a 501 (c) 3 non-profit.
