CTMC Hospice is teaming up with various partners, including the Price Center to offer several free presentations and a documentary about advance directives and other appropriate paperwork to complete for one’s medical and end-of-life wishes. The classes are part of the observance of National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD).
The Price Center will host a talk on Tues., April 6 at 5 p.m. in its Multi-Purpose Room, to help begin the dialogue. Licensed Clinical Social Workers from CTMC Hospice will speak. Local author Clay DeStefano will read from a chapter about end of life decisions from his book “HealthScare: Confessions of a Hospital Spin Doctor.” In addition, local attorney John Hohn will also be present to offer information about easy, fast and low-cost assistance with preparation and filing a variety of important health-and-end-of-life-related documents. The workshop is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.
CTMC will conclude its NHCDD efforts with a presentation of “Consider the Conversation: A Documentary on a Taboo Subject” at Embassy Suites San Marcos at 6 p.m. on Wed., April 19.
