FALL BRINGS EXPANDED YOGA, TAI CHI, & ART OPPORTUNITIES TO PRICE CTR

Despite continued triple-digit temperatures, fall is on the horizon and with it comes changes in some of the ongoing classes at the Price Center, including dance, yoga, tai chi, and art activities. All offerings are open to all and include no-cost and low-cost options. After a summer hiatus, ComDance returned last week with Jazz Dance on Tues, from 10:30 a.m. – Noon; Line Dance on Thurs., from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and Dance Fitness on Sat. from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Clogging (Mon. and Wed. from 10:15 – 11.am.), Ukulele (Mon. 11:05-11:50 a.m.) and Tap Dance (Thurs. 10:15 – 11:15 a.m.) will return the week of Sept. 9. NEW ART SHOW FOCUSES ON SAN MARCOS & RIVER

Nearly 100 works of art by area artists make up a new show at the Price Center hanging now through October 12. A unique display of 60 works celebrates the broad diversity of the San Marcos community in an exhibit titled “San Marcos: A River Runs Through It” hanging throughout the facility. A wide variety of media depict the river, mermaids, native wildlife, unicycle football, the town square, Sacred Springs Powwow and more. In addition, a fresh display of water-inspired quilts in the stairwell gallery, and a separate photography show in the 1910 Room completes this visual love letter to San Marcos.
