NEW YEAR BRINGS NEW LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO PRICE CENTER

The LifeLong Learning Organization of San Marcos (LLL) and Price Center are teaming up again to present several new workshops beginning next month. Ceramics, Origami, a history of writing through the ages, and a look at JS Bach’s genius will be the focus of the latest workshops beginning next week. All workshops require advance registration and payment of a small fee. History of Ceramics presented by Suzanne Polk-Shields will address selected aspects of the history of ceramics in the United States using slide-supported lectures and open discussion. CHRISTMAS SING-ALONG, GIFT SHOPPING, ART & DECOR HIGHLIGHT THIRD THURSDAY

A mother and son led Christmas Carol Sing-Along, pop-up art/gift vendors, a holiday-inspired art show, and some of downtown San Marcos’ best holiday decor are all on tap for visitors to Third Thursday Downtown Walkabout at the Price Center from 6-9 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 20. The Downtown Association has also arranged for free pedicab rides and the Grinch and a few mischievous elves to visit participating sites throughout the night. As always, the event is free, open to all and light refreshments, including an alcohol-free Christmas Wassail will be served. Anita Williams will provide piano accompaniment as her son Nathan leads the come-and-go community Christmas Carol Sing-Along from 6-9 p.
