Price Center Seeking Art Honoring Mom

In honor of Mother’s Day, the Price Center is seeking original artworks from local artists for an upcoming Community Art Show titled “Dear Mom.” Work selected for the show will hang in the Center’s Main Parlor and 1910 Rooms from early May through mid-June. “There are so many ways to interpret the idea of motherhood from literal images of our moms to those from the natural world to all the symbolism – old and new – that reminds us of motherhood,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director. “I look forward to seeing what the creative minds in our area do with the idea.” “Dear Mom” will be the fourth juried show open to all area artists to hang in the Center’s Rotating Community Gallery spaces. First Sunday Brunch includes Easter Ham

The Price Center’s First Sunday Brunch coincides with Easter this coming Sunday and that means in-house Chef Ray will be adding a few special items to his standard monthly brunch buffet, which is offered from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Center’s Tea Room. Chef Ray will be serving his regular freshly prepared assortment of European-inspired salads, hot entrees, crepes, made-to-order omelets and savory sweets. For Easter, he’s adding ham and corned beef hash, along with a complimentary glass of champagne and endless coffee, custom-blended tea, and fresh, fruit-infused water. Cost for the Brunch Buffett is $14.95 per person. Due to the holiday, reservations are suggested for parties of 6 or more.

SPRING, SUREALISM, & SINGERS ON TAP FOR 3RD THURS @ CENTER

This month’s Third Thursday Downtown Walkabout activities at the Price Center will feature a new community art show celebrating spring, a solo show by abstract expressionist Veronique Hahn, and three different live musical acts throughout the Center from 6-9 p.m. on Thurs., March 15. Hahn and Rebecca Bowman will be selling and autographing Ink Reactions/Reacciones en tinta, a new collaborative, bilingual book featuring Hahn’s surreal images and Bowman’s poems written in response to these images.
