1st Sunday Brunch Debuts Aug. 7

San Marcos, TX – The Price Center and its in-house chef, Ray Abiza, formerly of Euro Café, are pleased to announce a new Sunday Brunch service they will be offering in the Center’s Tea Room on the first Sunday of each month, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., beginning Aug. 7. “Since the first of the year, Chef Ray has done a wonderful job of providing lunch service in our Tea Room five days a week and thanks to the quality of his food and fair prices, we’ve significantly grown lunch traffic and catered events at the Center,” said Clay DeStefano executive director. “We have a number of plans to expand the availability of food at the Center beyond brunch, including order-ahead meals to go,” he added. 4th Flea Seeking More Vendors

4th Flea, the new downtown community flea market taking place on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Price Center, is seeking more booth vendors to participate in the monthly event slated to next take place on Sat., July 23. “We’ve now held two sales and had more than 100 folks come through seeking bargains and unusual finds each time,” said Clay DeStefano executive director. “Our vendors did well, but our shoppers commented they would like more booths, and so would we,” he added. SILK MANDALA PAINTING WORKSHOP SET FOR JULY 18

San Marcos, TX – Artists Ruby Dale Austin and Gigi Mederos are pleased to announce a new Silk Mandala Painting Workshop they will be offering at the Price Center on Mon., July 18 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The workshop will be a day centered on drawing and painting as participants create a mandala on silk. Mederos, an experienced silk painter, will lead the group as each participant will first sketch, then draw, and finally paint their own silk painting. All materials are included in the cost of the workshop and participants are encouraged to wear appropriate art workshop attire. San Marcos, TX – Auditions for Clare Booth Luce’s classic play and film “The Women” will be held on Thurs., July 28 at 7 p.m. in the historic 1910 Room at the Price Center for a fall run of the play. Actresses ranging in age from 9-years to up to 80 are needed to fill a variety of colorful roles. Rehearsals would begin in mid-Aug. on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons in Wimberley. The comedy drama, which centers on the social lives of wealthy women and their hired help in 1930’s New York, will be presented by The Black Diamond Cabaret Theatre the first 3 weekends in November at the Center.
